Direct answer: Qintellim RS-Series machines combine one or more R deburring stations using sanding belt consumables with one or more S edge-rounding stations using rotary roller brush tooling. Station quantity and physical arrangement, project-based working width, conveyor platform, consumables, control system, dust collection and electrical data are confirmed from the workpiece and sample testing.

Choose this family when the same automated process must remove burrs or surface residue and then create smoother rounded edges on accessible contours. Heavy-slag removal requires a C function, while directional brushing or polishing requires a W function.

When Deburring Must Come Before Edge Rounding for Coated Parts

Laser-cut or punched sheet metal can have both raised burrs and a sharp edge profile. In an RS process, an R station uses sanding belt consumables for burr removal and an S station uses rotary roller brush tooling for the required rounded-edge result. The station route is confirmed from the incoming burr, target edge condition, surface requirement and sample result.

Use representative sample parts to confirm the required edge condition, then evaluate the complete cleaning, pretreatment, coating and curing route against the project specification.

Choose the R/S Arrangement from Burr Severity and the Final Edge Requirement

RS identifies the deburring and edge-rounding family. Each common model code records the planned station sequence from left to right—for example, RRS and RSR contain the same station quantities but follow different process routes. The final delivered arrangement is confirmed in the approved technical proposal.

RS-Series Selection Questions

What do R and S mean in a Qintellim RS configuration?

R means a deburring station using a sanding belt consumable. S means an edge-rounding station using rotary roller brush tooling.

How should I read RRS and RSR?

Read the letters from left to right as the planned station route. RRS means R-R-S, while RSR means R-S-R. Both contain two R stations and one S station, but the process sequence is different. The delivered arrangement is confirmed in the approved technical proposal.

When should a buyer consider RSR instead of RRS?

RSR places an additional sanding-belt step after edge rounding, while RRS uses two sanding-belt stages before edge rounding. Sample testing determines which sequence produces the required result.

Does the S station cut a defined bevel?

No. The S station uses rotary roller brush tooling to create edge rounding or a controlled radius. It is different from cutting a defined bevel.

Can the RS-Series remove heavy slag?

Not as the normal R/S process. Heavy-slag removal requires evaluation of a C station with dedicated alloy-hammer tooling.

Can every part use a magnetic conveyor?

No. M is intended for suitable ferromagnetic parts. A vacuum or A-M combined platform is selected only after material, contact area, openings, flatness and process load are reviewed.

Are the 450–1600 mm machines always in stock?

No. The listed working widths are available by project. Production configuration and delivery are confirmed after the workpiece, process and order requirements are reviewed.

Why is there no fixed power or speed for the whole series?

Installed power and process settings change with working width, station quantity, tooling, conveyor platform, control system and auxiliary equipment. Approved values are stated in the technical proposal and on the machine nameplate.
