What Do the Two R Stations Do?

In Qintellim machine naming, R means a sanding-belt deburring station. The sanding belt is the working consumable. In an RR configuration, two R stations are arranged in sequence, but they do not need to run with identical settings.

First R Station

Carries out the primary deburring or grinding pass. Its sanding-belt specification, contact pressure and feed settings are selected according to the incoming burr condition and material.

Second R Station

Performs a follow-up pass that can use a different abrasive grade or operating setting. It can reduce remaining burrs, refine the scratch pattern or stabilize the final surface condition.

Why Is the Second Sanding-Belt Station Useful?

A second R station is not simply a duplicate. Separating the process into two controllable passes can be useful when one aggressive pass would remove the burr but leave an unnecessarily coarse surface, or when production requires more process margin than a single sanding belt can provide.

  • Use a coarser abrasive first and a finer abrasive second.
  • Distribute material removal across two stations instead of overloading one belt.
  • Adjust the two stations independently for different process roles.

When Is an RR Configuration a Good Fit?

RR is a practical choice when the main requirement is two-stage sanding-belt deburring or grinding. If the target also includes edge rounding or a controlled brushed surface, another function combination may be more suitable.
